Features

  • Latest fully functional Raspbian Wheezy base operating system

  • Emulationstation/RetroPie gaming environment, which launches at boot

  • Kodi 15.1 media center environment

  • Xbox360 controller support, with the ability to seamlessly navigate between and throughout Kodi and Emulationstation

  • Internationalization options set to English-US, on Eastern time. If you want to change this, you can just launch RasPi-config and set your desired parameters.

  • A modified copy of retroarch.cfg. Includes preset Xbox360 controller keybinds for in-game use, enabled HDMI audio, auto saving/loading of save states, and other minor tweaks. See the instructions page if you wish to change the controls.

  • A modified copy of /boot/config.txt. Includes overclocking settings, based on the RPI2 preset in Raspi-config, and gpu_mem is increased.

  • A modified copy of /etc/inittab. A line in this file is replaced with slightly different code in order to enable automagical login once the Pi finishes booting. This is so RetroPie/Emulationstation can start at boot.

  • A modified copy of .bashrc. This is more to make your bash terminal pretty. It isn't required for functionality. It includes a TriPi ASCII logo and the MOTD from Petrockblock/Petrockblog (thanks!)

  • A modified copy of /etc/rc.local. This enables Xbox360 controller support at boot, while making sure that a new ssh session does not interfere with it, as was an issue with previous versions of TriPi.

  • A menu item to launch Kodi from within Emulationstation under the "Ports" menu.

  • A menu item to launch the TriPi-Updater from within Emulationstation under the "Ports" menu.

  • Samba File Sharing is installed and enabled so you can easily copy your roms over to the appropriate folder from across your local network.
